A native of Greece, Dr. Tsolas is a New York State licensed psychologist. She is also a training and supervising psychoanalyst, a graduate of and on the faculty at Columbia University, Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. She has an M.S. in School Psychology and a Certificate in Bi-Lingual Psychology from CUNY. Dr. Tsolas is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. A respected author, Dr. Tsolas has published many papers in highly esteemed journals and presented papers on a wide range of topics both domestically and internationally. She was the 2007 winner of the highly acclaimed Sacerdoti Prize presented by the International Association of Psychoanalysis. Columbia University’s Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research honored Dr. Tsolas with the 2013 Klar award for teaching excellence as well as the 2010 Lionel Ovesey award for her work at Rose Hill Psychological Services of which she is the director and co-founder. She is also in private practice in Manhattan treating adults and adolescents. She specializes in issues of otherness, the body-mind relationship and psychosomatics interests that she is currently crafting into a new training and treatment modality. Her latest book, On the Body, was published in 2017 by Routledge, and her forthcoming book A Psychoanalytic Investigation of the Contemporary Search for Pleasure: The Turning of the Screw, is to be released soon.
