Psychoanalytic therapy is an invitation to speak. To speak is in some sense a risk, even a gamble. In the process of speaking to an other, something which causes both suffering and satisfaction can arise: namely, one’s symptom.
Rather than trying to correct or eradicate what is unbearable or, perhaps, has never been spoken about before, my approach aims at listening for the creative know-how and singular solutions already contained within one’s symptom. The other side of speaking about a nightmare or racing thought, can be the articulation and discovery of a desire. And it is this desire that, ultimately, psychoanalytic therapy aims at following.
I am psychoanalyst in-training at Pulsion Institute and currently offering psychoanalytic therapy at Rose Hill. I hold a B.A from Barnard College and am completing my PhD in art history at Princeton.
I invite you to begin the process for yourself, with the promise that the singularity of your speech will be heard.
